Based on the design of the MC 15, a machine for ground engineering works that is compact and powerful at the same time, the MC 15 P offers increased performance due to the more powerful engine, positioning itself at the top of its weight class (the machine weights from 15 to 16 tons).

The MC 15 P is a multipurpose machine, able to perform any type of foundation and consolidation work, from micropiles to jet grouting, as well as anchor drilling and soil nailing. It is equipped with a QSB 6.7 Cummins engine delivering 168 kW (225 HP) power and a mast featuring 8000 daN feed/retract force and 4.000/7.000 mm feed stroke.

A distinctive feature of the MC 15 P is the variety of movements and inclination angles of the mast that this rig can perform due to its patented mast articulation, allowing for flexible use even in confined spaces.

Thanks to the use of advanced modular hydraulic circuits and the more powerful engine, the MC 15 P can accommodate a wide selection of rotary heads (providing up to 3200 daNm actual torque), hydraulic drifters, water and mud pumps, winches and rod carousels. The fully flexible design lends itself to a wide range of drilling techniques that use rotary and rotary-percussive systems. The increased performance of the engine make the MC 15 P particularly suitable for overburden drilling techniques, in particular with double-head systems.

The machine can be equipped with hydraulic proportional servo-assisted controls, radio control or double controls (both hydraulic and radio). Like all Comacchio rigs, the MC 15 P can be customized according to the needs of each single customer. The MC 15 P in the “High Tech Line” version presented at Bauma 2016 complies with the latest EU and North American emissions regulations (EU Stage IIIB/ US EPA Tier 4 interim). Moreover, it is equipped with a series of safety components and devices that provide for improved safety levels on jobsite, in accordance with the new EU standard EN 16228.
