Our GEO range includes multiple hydraulic drilling rigs specifically developed for dual-head applications in geothermal borehole drilling and water well construction, with pull-up capacities ranging from approximately 10 to 30 tonnes. This technology is specifically designed to improve efficiency and stability in difficult ground conditions commonly encountered in geothermal borehole drilling.
Dual-head drilling systems are based on the use of two independent, counter-rotating drilling heads: a lower casing head and an upper rotary head. The lower head drives and advances the outer casing, while the upper head simultaneously rotates the inner drill string and drilling tool. This coordinated movement allows both casing and drilling operation to progress simultaneously in a single continuous process. This method is particularly effective in geothermal and water well drilling in loose, sandy, gravelly or unstable formations, where borehole integrity is critical. The simultaneous advancement of casing and drilling tool provides continuous wall support, significantly reducing the risk of collapse and improving borehole accuracy. The counter-rotation of the two heads also enhances drilling efficiency and facilitates the controlled removal of cuttings to the surface. From an environmental standpoint, the system supports cleaner and more controlled drilling operations in geothermal and water well drilling projects, with improved management of drilling fluids and cuttings, and reduced risk of groundwater contamination through the use of sealed circulation and collection systems.
